Today I did my circuit, weights and warm up then got down to my 3.5mile run – see above. However I have found it harder to run on the treadmill than just running around my town. I don’t know whether this is due to boredom, or whether it is one specific constant speed on the treadmill compared to varied speed and incline round the street. Yet 8 mile easy on the street, 3.5 mile an annoyance on the treadmill. I could have gone on but I just couldn’t be bothered. Then I considered my warm up and circuit at … Continue reading Why is it harder to run on the treadmill?
So to carry on my journey in training for the London marathon and tough mudder I decided on a 8 mile run today. I mean why not. I found the start tough today, even getting past the first 2 mile … Continue reading Training – start of the year
I’ve been ill recently, nothing drastic but enough colds, flu, chest infections and losing my voice to have an impact on my running. The impact being I’ve not been able to go out and run, being a teacher my voice is needed so have had a break from all exercise for the last 3 months. This is my starting point again then… My aim to have a schedule and stick to it and improve time and distance. I felt comfortable today doing the 4 mile but I wasn’t happy with the time. I will get there. Rachyba8e xx Continue reading Training for London marathon and tough mudder
I’m really struggling at the moment, and you know what I’m finding it dam hard. I’m a team leader at a college and you cannot show any signs of a struggle to the students, to the managers or to fellow colleagues. I was very happy in my relationship up to a couple of months ago when I was sat in the pub with my fellow work colleagues just chatting (no alcohol … Continue reading I have realised my eyes have only just been opened…

One of the first cities that I visited was Matsumoto which is in the Chubu region of Japan. I can honestly say that it is in my top favourite cities. It is BEAUtiful, gorgeous, friendly and with so much to see and do I was spoilt for pictures. Enjoy…. Mirror I went along to see Matsumoto castle, and when I was travelling there the snow was falling heavily! However as soon as I arrived at the castle the snow cleared, blue sky appeared and the sunshine was gorgeous. This presented me with the perfect opportunity to snap the black castle … Continue reading Photo Challenge – ‘Mirror’ Matsumoto
Expert Have you ever tried to pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time? This is a classic example of a dual task performance, and what many have tried to understand is can the performance of these tasks be improved in any way? A suggestion that has been posed by psychologists is practice; repeating something over and over again. At a time when the Olympics has just passed and with only 9 days until the paralympics, there is a certain amount of evidence that practice does indeed make perfect. Yet how many hours do we need to … Continue reading Daily Prompt: Expert – ‘Practice Makes Perfect’

Cheat can mean many things to people, many immediately think about relationships… This is not what came to my mind first however, I do not know whether this is because I am happy in the relationship I am in, or whether I am naive to the cheating environment. Cheat…. or cheating (a doing word) the teacher in me exploded out and all I could think about was those students that asked me to help them cheat in their Maths GCSE. Now the fact that the GCSE results came out last Thursday may be the main reason why this has been … Continue reading Daily Prompt: Cheat – in exams?
